Hello. My name is Sharon Alston, and I'm a vet and the founder of Rugby Vet Hospital.

My career in veterinary medicine started as a vet nurse in the distant 80s. I proudly became a veterinary surgeon in 2002 and took advanced surgical qualifications in 2018. Over this time I have set up and run several practices, and I've seen the profession I love develop from a profession into an industry.

I've been working in clinics in the area, and I was frustrated to find that they are mainly large corporate groups. I hated that pets needed to travel great distances at night and weekends to get emergency or overnight care, at significant cost. This never sat comfortably with me, so I decided it was time to offer a better solution for your pets. So welcome to our 24 hour, fully independent hospital.

Alongside day to day routine care, we offer a range of advanced procedures and surgeries from our brilliant, advanced qualified team, from affordable CT scans to a full diagnostic laboratory service. We do endoscopy, laparoscopic procedures and orthopaedics, and we have fully equipped ICU facilities: intensive care for all your pets, including exotic species.

We've created a separate cat clinic area to reduce the stress of a vet visit for your feline friends. We also offer a home euthanasia service so that your sad goodbyes can happen in the comfort of your pet's home, surrounded by their loved ones.

Away from work, I have a wonderful son and I'm passionate about, and breed, long coat German Shepherd dogs. I'm involved in many animal welfare projects, and I also have three cats and three horses. Animals are my world, and if you cut me like a stick of rock, it would say vet all the way through.

Hello. My name is Antonio and I am one of the surgeons in the day team at Rugby Vet Hospital.

Early in my career I developed a strong interest in orthopaedics and the surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions: conditions affecting your pet's bones and movement. I focus on continuously developing my practical, surgical and clinical decision making to achieve the best possible outcome for all of our patients.

My special interests are orthopaedic surgery, neurology and soft tissue surgery, including reconstructive techniques such as skin flaps and grafts.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and keeping an active, healthy lifestyle. I'm looking forward to helping all of our new clients and their pets.

Hi, I'm Christine, and I'm so excited to be part of the team.

Originally from Malaysia, I followed my two passions in Colorado, earning degrees in both music and zoology. My persistent love for animals eventually led me to Ireland, where I qualified as a veterinary surgeon. While I love every cat and dog I see, I have a soft spot for the more unusual, exotic creatures.

I'm working towards my advanced qualification in exotic animal practice and I'm already seeing exotic pets from across the wider area. I am dedicated to understanding their unique and intricate needs. To me, whether they are covered in scales, feathers or fur, they are a beloved member of your family.

Outside of work, I love staying active through rock climbing, taekwondo and aerial arts. I bring that same passion and focus to the clinic every day to make sure your pets get the care they deserve.

Hi. My name is Sidney and I'm one of the night vets at Rugby Vet Hospital. I have a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and hold a certificate in this area. Performing CT, ultrasound and X-rays helps us figure out what's going on beneath the surface and brings more clarity to our cases.

Outside of work, I can be found playing the piano, drawing commissioned pet portraits, or at our allotment growing delicious fruit and veg. I love the time I spend with my two year old daughter, sharing my passions with her.

I'm also a bit of a geek and love solving Rubik's Cubes. If you bring one in to your consultation, I promise I'll solve it for you for free.

I'm really excited to join a team committed to high standards of patient care. As an emergency vet, I hope I don't meet you too soon, but we are always here for any worries, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
